  Could not recommend more highly! We were in Quito and did a day trip to Mindo. Our guide, Alex, was amazing. He was a wealth of information... read more and went far out of his way to show us everything we wanted to see. We zip-lined, went to the butterfly museum, did a chocolate tasting and learned how cocoa beans become chocolate. We also did a cable and hike to a waterfall. We really wanted to hit the equator museum on the way back and Alex made sure we got there -- we were running behind and he called to make sure they would stay open for us. Along the way, he gave us a great sense about Ecuador. Alex even helped us order pizza on the way home . He said that "no" was not in his vocabulary and that turned out to be true. The whole operation was so easy -- they even took us to the airport on our way out. The bus was comfortable, the driver safe, and it was just overall a fabulous trip -- our favorite activity in Quito. Thank you Alex and CarpeDM!

The tour... read more involved transportation to the volcano national park, a hike up to base camp (then optional up to 5000m), a bike ride down to a lagoon and then a 2-course lunch. Our guide, Alejandro, was very knowledgable and had fluent English. He was very enthusiastic and informative. I would recommend this to anyone who has a day in Quito and wants a bit of an adventure!

As we are an older couple it took us a bit more time at such a high altitude, Stui, encouraged us all the way and exhibited an immense amount of patience.
He also was able to customize the trip a bit, to fit our needs.
I would highly recommend this trip to anyone wishing to be up close to the active volcano.

  The Cotopaxi day experience is definitely a must do in Quito! Stui was a great guide with a lot of knowledge on all of Ecuador, with tons of fun facts... read more and answered all of our questions without hesitation. The weather was cool and windy but Stui still made our experience very enjoyable. To end our hike, we had the option to mountain bike down the remaining time which was super fun and highly recommended! The included lunch was absolutely delicious and they had taken into account all dietary restrictions.
All in all, loved the entire experience!

We were picked up in Machachi and after a tea stop we arrived in the park, where Alejandro checked us in. We drove through the park, where we were explained all about the fauna and flora, and we spotted deer, wild horses and foxes. The driver then took us up to the parking of Cotopaxi. From here we hiked up through the snow to the basecamp. After hot chocolate, we continued to the glacier viewpoint. After a smooth ascent and descend we got on the mountainbikes for a fun downhill! We ended the tour with excellent lunch. This tour is worth every dollar! Highly recommended!
