North Ilinizas Climb

2 Day- tour

The Ilinizas are are two peaks located 55km Southwest of Quito. Iliniza Sur (5250m) is famous for being the sixth highest mountain in the country whilst Iliniza Norte (5126m) is the eighth highest. The Illiniza is an ancient volcano to the south of Quito which split into 2 separate peaks over 5000 years ago. This tour climbs the northern peak which reaches an altitude of 5,126m. Illiniza Norte is a moderate trek with an exhilarating but easy scramble to reach the top. It offers superb views of the mighty Cotopaxi and surrounding volcanoes. This climb is perfect for acclimatization and for those aspiring to climb Cotopaxi.
