Overview

This 4 day 3 night adventure tour is set in the Cuyabeno reserve which it one of the most bio-diverse places on the planet. The tour  needs a minimum 4 people and has a maximum 10 people. You will Explore the Rainforest in Eco-Friendly Canoes paddling without the noise of a motorized canoe. You will spend one night in an indigenous community. The  tour is 4 days 3 nights one night camping alongside the Cuyabeno river, one night stay at Caiman lodge and one night staying with the indigenous community of the Sionas.




Itinerary 4 days 3 nights

Day 1

The Caiman Lodge Transport picks you up at the Hotel De Mario in Lago Agrio at 9 am or at the Airport Lago until 10 am. From there we have a two hour bus ride to the Cuyabeno Bridge. After lunch we will start our Adventure Tour in our special adventure canoes down the Cuyabeno river. You get the first chance to see the amazing wildlife of Cuyabeno, get lucky and see loads of monkeys, birds, snakes (anacondas), sloths and whatever the jungle will bring. After our first 3 hour paddling trip we reach our camp in the afternoon. Caiman Lodge will provide tents, mattresses, cheats, food and drinks. After some time to relax and dinner we will head out for an exciting night walk to find huge insects like tarantulas, lobster grasshopper, frogs and reptiles.

Day 2

After breakfast we will continue paddling down the Cuyabeno river and we will reach the Laguna Grande. You will see the change from white water river to the black water in the Laguna Grande. A huge amazing mirow which gives Cuyabeno its magic. Here you get a great chance to see the pink river dolphins. Around 1 pm we will reach Caiman Eco Lodge. You will get your room with pirvate bathroom and after lunch you have the chance to relax in the hammock and to climb up the 7 floor birdwatching tower to have a great view over the jungle. In the afternoon we will go for a jungle hike and swim and watch the beautiful sunset in the Laguna Grande. We will get back to the lodge when its dark, looking for caimans. Then we will get back to Caiman Eco Lodge to have dinner and a cold beer in the hammock, if you want.

 

Day 3

After breakfast in Caiman Eco Lodge we paddle down the Cuyabeno river to the Puerto Bolivar community of the Sionas. We will have lunch (provided by Caiman Lodge) in the community and then we will meet one of the indigenous women to teach us how to make the traditional Casave bread. After we have walk through the community and the jungle with a native Siona. We will reach our camp and after dinner we are going to meet one of the last 5 Siona shamans. He will tell us about there tradition and sing a 1000 of years old chant for us. (If you are interested in Ayahusaka, we can organize a cermonie together.)

 

Day 4

We get up early (6am) to bird watch and to see the sunrise in the jungle. After breakfast an engine canoe will pick us up and bring us back to the Cuyabeno bridge, where you will get a lunch box. The Caiman Lodge Transport will bring you back to Lago Agrio around 2pm and can drop you off directly at the bus terminal, airport or in the center of Lago Agrio.
